From Jo Torrijos:
A Collected Space carries more than one meaning for me.
A Collected Space is a platform to share and sell things I love. Whether that’s pieces of furniture I’ve painted or refinished [a passion of mine for the better part of my adult life], found treasures [from countless days spent at thrift shops, estate sales and traveling the country and globe], or creative pieces from friends and family.
A Collected Space is an outlet to share my love for all things creative: design, art, architecture, food, music. It’s a place where I collect the beauty of my everyday.
A Collected Space refers to my interior design style. Over the years, I’ve realized how much I value the thrill of the hunt and the patience of the search. I strongly believe in the art of layering and curating a space. A home doesn’t come together in a day or all from one store. It takes time and sourcing from multiple avenues to give that space a soul. Like any stylist, I technically can put together an entire room in one day, but much like speed reading through a book, there’s a lack of depth and understanding when rushed. Good design tells a story and is achieved through an ongoing conversation.
Slowing down, spending time to collect and think creatively about your space is a method I’ve learned to adapt not just to my clients’ spaces, but to the way I view my entire life.
Taking the time to understand your space and the things you value in your life can declutter your physical and mental space. It allows you to focus on what truly is important and what brings you joy and contentment.
Whether you’re here to shop, to read, to get tips on design and furniture painting or are interested in working with me, I hope you find something here that inspires you to create an authentic, collected space in your life.
